Use this guide to decide which email or SMS alerts the business should receive.

Open booking settings

Choose booking alerts

Booking alerts help the business notice new bookings, changes, and cancellations without checking the calendar every minute.

  1. Open Bookings, then open Booking Settings.
  2. Review the email alert settings.
  3. Review the SMS alert settings.
  4. Choose the phone or email destination the owner or manager actually monitors.

Use SMS alerts carefully

SMS alerts are useful for urgent booking updates, but they use SMS Tokens when sent.

  1. Keep SMS booking alerts on only for messages the team needs quickly.
  2. Confirm the alert phone number is correct.
  3. Check the SMS Token balance if SMS alerts are used often.

Test the alert path

Before relying on alerts during business hours, test one booking change.

  1. Create a test booking.
  2. Confirm the expected email or SMS alert arrives.
  3. Remove the test booking if it should not stay on the calendar.
